INTRODUCTION


Legacy Farms is a 182-acre mixed-density neighborhood with approximately 1,100 dwelling units to be built and developed by DR Horton. Pel-Ona was hired as part of the planning and design team to determine the architectural character of the neighborhood. Later, Pel-Ona was tasked to prepare preliminary architectural plans for 35 dwelling units; street accessed SFD, alley loaded SFD, duplexes and row houses.

THE STREETSCAPE


When porches are brought close to the sidewalk, it is possible to achieve a walking-friendly street even with front-loaded garages. The street trees on the tree lawns, on–street parking, and landscaping in front the porches are also crucial to creating an attractive sidewalk
