INTRODUCTION

FOURMILE CANYON REMODEL - BOULDER, COLORADO

Built in 1989 by a local carpenter, this unique home features a magnificent stain glass window as the central feature of the second story.  However, the rooms to the sides of the grand space had head heights too low for functional use.  Pel-Ona designed 2 matching dormers to either side of the central roof to enable full use of the existing floor area of the second floor.  While the new roofs are designed to be in keeping with the original style of the home (and the lower level addition), different materials were used to clad the additions so that they are easily identifiable as unique from the original monolithic design of the home.
