SITE & BUILDING PLAN

FORSTER STUDIO

The studio is located at the rear of the lot.  The main spaces of the building face onto the back yard.  The studio has large double doors that allow the indoor activities to spill out into the garden during warm weather.  The kitchenette and bath are easily accessible from the studio.  The guest quarters also face onto the backyard and have a porch that takes advantage of the backyard views.   Storage options have been included at the southwest corner of the building and below the porch.

The studio creates a pleasant backdrop to the backyard from the main house.  The 1.5 story building shields the activities of the alley while maintaining the grand views of the foothill mountains from the main house.  The design includes the option for an easy conversion to a one car garage with alley access for resale purposes.

FORSTER STUDIO

The studio opens up to the back yard with large double doors and a gracious porch.  The alley side of the building has high windows that take advantage of southern light and mountain views while offering privacy.

The architectural character of the building is sympathetic to the historic main house.  It has gabled roofs and simple details that make an understated contribution to the neighborhood that doesn't compete with its surroundings.  The board and batten siding are reminiscent of older farming structures sprinkled throughout the City.
