Aly Burkhalter

Aly Burkhalter is a Senior Planner at Pel-Ona Architects & Urbanists, bringing a strong foundation in urban studies, architecture, and community-centered development. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from UC San Diego and her master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver.
With six years of experience managing planning and entitlement projects, Aly has worked across both public- and private-sector roles, including serving the Town of Erie as a Development Review Planner and Affordable Housing Project Manager. There, she helped manage one of Colorado’s first affordable housing projects to meet the state’s Prop 123 requirements—a milestone that reflects her dedication to expanding equitable housing opportunities.

Aly also holds a Certificate in Classical Architecture from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, complementing her interdisciplinary approach to planning. She is passionate about shaping resilient, people-focused places and helping communities grow with intention and character.
