Pel-Ona Architects & Urbanists, led by Studio Seed Urban Design & Planning, were selected by the City of Salida to develop a community vision and plan for the approx. 100 acres of city-owned land known as South Arkansas River Sub-Area Plan. This development will bring essential housing, vibrant public areas, and recreational amenities to the community. 40 acres of the land is intended to remain as open space for natural processes and passive recreation areas.
The team conducted community presentations, open houses, stakeholder interviews, a design charrette, and a market analysis.
The final plan was adopted by the City of Salida in November 2023.
