Pel-Ona Architects & Urbanists designed two-story townhomes at Loretto Heights, one of Denver’s historic neighborhoods. The design goal is to create a healthy living product acting as a transition between existing single family neighborhoods and higher density compact townhomes and apartments. At the center of the neighborhood is a historic school campus being revitalized as a community center.
The building forms are simple for ease of construction and designed to take advantage of solar exposure and scenic views. Two unit plans were developed, each with three bedrooms, kitchen options and loft options. Plan 1 has two available elevations, while Plan 2 has one. In various combinations of three, four, and five units, these create a diverse streetscape, or organize around common green courts.
These townhomes will be all-electric, LEED Certified, Indoor airPLUS Qualified, Zero Energy Ready, and Energy Star Certified.
